He's your President too

This is a test. Please select the best answer, and defend your choice in at least one sentence. You have one minute. Ready....Go.

The President's State of the Union speech was:

1) Inspiring and powerful

2) Painfully dull

3) Infuriating, and made my bood boil

4) Shocking, in that Nancy Pelosi and Dick Cheney didn't spontaneously combust by sitting next to each other.

5) Didn't see it, for x, y, z, reason

6. none of the above.
I thought the speech was surprising in its somewhat subdued tone - President Bush seemed genuinely humble to avoid death by evil eye in the Democratic Congress. Some of the domestic policy initiatives were refreshing. And I was also pleasantly surprised that addressing problems in Sudan and other parts of Africa is slowly moving up the priority ladder.

1. Any time any President speaks at the State of the Union, it should be inspiring on some level. This particular address showed the progress that we have made in learning how we can cross the aisle and work together on partisan politics. Any speech that can make the left side stand as much as the right side sits (and vice versa) is beginning to hint that Congress is getting the point. "The American people don't care which side of the aisle we sit on..." It's about time someone notified the representatives of that.

Also, I was a huge fan of Dikembe Mutombo when he played for the Nuggets.
